Frequently asked questions

Responding to Curriculum is a time set aside for the teacher’s discretion. Sometimes  a History or Science Lesson may take up this time. Other times class parties or checker tournaments use this time. Some teachers use this time for reading aloud. This time allows the teacher to have a little flexibility in their schedule.

There are a limited number of work scholarships available. Parents work in exchange for a credit on tuition each month. Positions such as classroom aide, lunch help, nursery work may be available. Send a message through the contact page to request information on current openings.

Grace Academy started in 2004 with a small group of students and two teachers. 

Individual Instruction is taking a class one-on-one. The teacher plans, grades, and teaches the class using a complete curriculum. The student receives a credit for completion.  Individual instruction allows student to move at their own pace – slower or faster – through the curriculum.

Tutoring is when a student has one-on-one with a teacher who is helping the student complete a class they are enrolled in and need help with specific concepts. 

Tutoring can be scheduled as needed or on a regular basis. Individual instruction meets on a regular schedule for the school year or until the student finishes the chosen curriculum.

Yes, students in individual instruction would complete homework and need to pass the class with a “C” average to receive a credit.
