High School
There are five periods of classes for students to choose from each Tuesday and Thursday for on-campus classes. Core Academics of Science, History, English, Writing, and Math are available, as well as core semester courses of Civics and Economics. Electives in Spanish, Art, Logic and Critical Thinking, Graphic Design, and more are available to round out each student’s class schedule.
Student can participate in the High School Student Council and learn through cooperative involvement while doing Service Projects and planning yearly events.
Career Focus
Art II or Art III
The student will explore art techniques and mediums through the study of artists. In addition to exploring different art mediums, students will be learning digital and video art. Students will be working on an Ipad.
Ipads are provided for classroom use.
Home Economics
This course proved students with general household and personal resource management skills. Goals include teaching family budgeting, meal planning and preparation, basic nutrition, intro to sewing, and practical family management.
Graphic Design
In Graphic Design, students will learn and explore the fundamentals of image-making, typography, composition, pattern, working with color and shape. Projects will be varied and executed primarily using an iPad.

Technology 2
Students will be introduced to and practice the Microsoft applications of Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Note, Access, and Outlook. Additionally, students will use digital education and learn about coding.
Technology 1
Students will practice keyboarding skills, learn the google suite applications, develop email skills, and be introduced to coding.
Spanish
Students will be immersed in the Spanish language based. Students skill level can range from beginner to advanced. On-campus and online options available

Coding
This course takes a wide lens on computer science by laying a foundation of problem-solving skills and then covering topics such as programming, physical computing, HTML/CSS, and data. Students will build their own websites, apps, games, and program physical computing devices. Students will get an understanding of what it means to code and these introductory skills will empower them to start using coding on their own. Class will meet in an online classroom weekly and will have additional work presented in an online format. The course can be used as a technology elective, 4th-year math credit, or 3rd-year science credit.

Civics
This course prepares students to be informed and empowered citizens who have a biblical perspective of government. Fall Semester
Economic
Introduces key principles from household purchases to the stock market. Each chapter includes personal finance sections. Students need both the text and the activities manual. Spring Semester
High School English
Students will learn basic essay writing, basic creative writing, high school level vocabulary, and high school level grammar. Additionally, students will study two pieces of Literature. Parents purchase Literature books.
World History
United States History teaches students about the development of the United States as a nation in order for them to become informed and empowered citizens. The course begins with early American settlement, then moves on through the formation and early years of the nation, the Constitution, and the many challenges that have threatened survival. Students will develop their critical thinking skills as they learn to use their knowledge of the nation’s history to make informed decisions about issues on a local, state, and national level

Students receive 1 credit for Algebra. DIVE CD is recommended.

Students receive 1 credit for Algebra II and 1/2 credit for Geometry. DIVE CD is recommended.

Advanced Math Part 1 covers lessons 1 -63. Students receive 1 credit for Advanced Algebra and 1/2 credit for Geometry. DIVE CD is recommended.

Advanced Math Part 2 covers lessons 64-125. Students receive 1 credit for Pre-Calculus. DIVE CD is recommended.

Core Courses: Science
Physical Science
Biology
Students learn the scientific method and the five-kingdom classification scheme and are introduced to microscopy, biochemistry, cellular biology, molecular and Mendelian genetics, evolution, dissection and ecosystems.
Chemistry
Sixteen modules cover measurement & units, atoms & molecules, atomic structure, molecular structure, polyatomic ions and molecular geometry, stoichiometry, acid-base chemistry, thermodynamics, kinetics, chemical equilibrium, and more. Lessons integrate “on your own” questions to check for review and comprehension throughout the lesson, as well as examples, tables, and images where helpful. Modules end with a “study guide” that includes review questions and practice questions, along with answers to the “on your own” questions.
Marine Biology
Biology is a prerequisite for this advanced Biology course which includes an entire education on ecology. Students will learn about the ocean’s ecosystems and resources and how we can best steward them.
Physics
Students are provided with a detailed introduction to the methods and concepts of general physics with an emphasis on vector analysis. This text provides a student with a background in one-dimensional and two-dimensional motion, Newton’s laws and their application, gravity, work and energy, momentum, periodic motion, waves, optics, electrostatics, electrodynamics, electrical circuits, and magnetism.

Senior Year
Senior year at Grace Academy is a busy time with Senior lunches, Senior yearbook pages, Senior Auction & Senior Trip, Senior pictures, Prom, and, of course, the graduation ceremony
Grace Academy is a UAFS Concurrent Site for Home Educated students. Students who have score of at least a 19 on the ACT or have passed the Accuplacer at UAFS are eligible to participate in UAFS Concurrent Classes. High School Juniors may enroll in two UAFS Concurrent classes each semester. High School Seniors may enroll in three UAFS Concurrent classes each semester.
