This course will help students become informed citizens and empowered participants in American society. Student learn about our nation and its development over the last two centuries. Using a biblical perspective, the text specifically targets critical-thinking skills to demonstrate how knowledge of our history is crucial to making informed decisions about important civic issues. American Republic to 1860 covers the discovery of a new world through reconstruction to 1860.

Civics (10th -12th) Fall Semester

 Fun activities are planned for this fall revolving around how elections work in the USA and the political process. Students will do classroom simulations and delve deeply into understanding politics in America and in the state of Arkansas. Importantly, your student will understand the American system of government and grapple with the Constitution’s framework and why it is so important.

World History (9th -12th) (2022-2023)

World History, 5th edition, recounts the story of mankind from creation to the present. Studies examine ancient civilizations through the Greeks to the Roman Empire. Then students survey India, Asia, and Africa on their way to the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, and the Reforrmation. Student are lead to discoveries about the forces, issues, people, and movements that have shaped our modern world.God’s providence and Bible integration are given prominence as the students are taught to view the world through a Christian lens.

Economics with Personal Finance (10th – 12th) Spring Semester

Students will learn basic economics and personal finance meeting in this spring semester course.

United States History (9th -12th) 

United States History beginning with discovery and colonization up to present day.

Required text: BJU Press U.S. History Student Text (Grade 11; 5th Edition)

This class covers from industrialism and into the new millennium of Bush and Obama.
